Also, with only 4 mains to choose from, it was hard to find something other diners in my group wanted to eat. Fitzroy felt precious. Almost experimental. Very into themselves, philosophically. We were reminded of an American skit show called Portlandia (granted, an arcane reference). One memorable episode featured very posh diners and their weird demands and the kind of restaurant that caters to this type of person. As I said the service was warm, so you don 't see the attitude issue there. But it 's evident with the rigidly narrow menu and sky high prices. A skilled kitchen but not, I 'm afraid, a good value. In the end, it just felt silly.
The atmosphere is smart but very casual. Its all good quality and zero pretension. Carefully selected wine list of small organic vineyards. The menu was small, focused, fresh and local. Absolutely stunning. Service immaculate without being overwhelming. This is a gem of a restaurant. Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Fantastic food and drink. Simple menu with a fish focus. More of a couples place than for kids Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We were excited to attend this restaurant but had our child fall ill the evening due to attend. I emailed the restaurant to apologise for the no show a few days later, as they proceeded to charge me £100 for a no show fee! Stating they're unable to refund despite circumstance, and the amount seems very excessive. Visitors beware!
