The cheese always tastes quality and the sauce is amazing! I usually ask to take an extra sauce home to finish the other half of the calzone, it's so good! I've never had a bad experience : Also, I used to work around the corner from the restaurant and I could see the owners are very dedicated and work all day long in that restaurant with a smile ! Great job Fratello's restaurant :
We were pleasantly surprised with the eggplant and chicken Parmesan. The sauce was very tasty though the chicken was a bit dry. The calamari strips (smaller amount) were very tasty and quite generous!
My review has nothing to do with the food, as I never got a chance to try it, but in regards to the greedy, and shady business practices that this restaurant upholds. My husband is a military veteran and was gifted a diners club gift certificate as a thank you to our troops and first responders week. Forty local restaurants participated in this promotion and this place was one of the restaurants being acknowledged for taking part. When my husband called to inquire about redeeming his gift certificate for dinner, the lady who answered asked her boss and his response was I do not remember agreeing to doing a promotion for troops or first responders! Ummm ok then why are you on the list of restaurants who were honoring our service people? So we decide to try one of the other restaurants on the list, but my husband being stubborn and really wanting to try a new Italian restaurant which he hoped we would enjoy and frequent, decided to call back and explain that it was a gift certificate through diners club and wondered why they were not willing to honor it. They then said that they had just been confused, to print out the code to redeem the certificate, and come on in. We did exactly as requested, went in for what we hoped would be a lovely dinner, and were told that they don 't offer such promotions and the best that they could do for us would be $15 off of $30 if we printed out another offer. We walked out frustrated, and chose to spend our money somewhere that didn 't act like we were beggars asking for a free meal. We planned to order big, and always tip well. I just don 't understand why they advertised this promotion through diners club, Lithia automotive, and kmph Fox News if they did not plan to honor it? Perhaps to look good in the community so as to gain new costumers? I 'm sorry but any place that would promise our veterans and first responders a discount, and then flat refuse to honor the deal, is no place I want to take my business. Shameful and disgusting!
A restaurant that's survived Merced St. Which is uncommon, by the way. Food is good. Prices fair. Options are a little limited but the portions are pretty hefty. Great place for dinner with a friend, But avoid bringing large parties because space is very limited.
Usually I would rate them 5, however,we had not been to fratellos in several months until the other night and this visit was somewhat disappointing. They were out of several things, butter for the bread being one of them. The food was very tasty as always. I would have thought the bus boy could have run across the street to the store for the small things they were out of. I'm sure the store carries lemon, butter, and wine. I hope it was just an off night as we have always enjoyed going to fratellos.
