The Postern Grille feels cramped, with oversized furniture that doesn't fit the space well, leading to chairs bumping into each other. The placement of the flat-screen TVs is also quite odd. At first, our waitress wasn’t very welcoming, although she did become friendlier as the evening progressed. Overall, the food was unimpressive. I think we'll be looking elsewhere for our next dining experience.
I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. They advertised a Thanksgiving special, but there was only one option for the Thanksgiving dish. We ordered that along with a medium-rare steak. The waitress suggested we order it well done, claiming it would taste better that way. Unfortunately, it turned out the steaks were pre-cooked to the point of no return, so we couldn't get them medium rare as we wanted. I wish we had been informed of this beforehand. We also ordered hamburgers that were subpar, and they seemed to be pre-cooked as well. Given the prices, I expected a freshly broiled steak cooked to my liking, along with burgers that were grilled to order. What a disappointment!
We began our meal with calamari, which was perfectly fried and served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. The seared tuna appetizer, paired with an avocado chili sauce over seaweed, was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Caesar salad came with a generous portion of greens and a tasty dressing, although the croutons could have been a bit more fresh. Our friends ordered the porterhouse steak; they found the meat to be good, but were not fond of the sauce. The hamburger was excellent, and the fish tacos featured crispy fish with a delicious sauce. We appreciate the ambition of the restaurant and look forward to its continued success.
Quiet, attentive service and great food.
