My friends and I had Saturday reservations and were seated in a booth in packed area of the restaurant. I ordered the Ultimate family style meal that offers 4 more meats because I was disappointed by their dry chicken in that past. Unfortunately nothingwas excellent but I did enjoy the bratwurst, potato cheese puffs, stollen bread and the ice cream dessert. All the rest of themeats and sides were average except for the what I refer to as the ?infamous? Chicken. Luke warm and dry as it has been in pastexperiences for me. Our server Ellery was great along with the effort to replicate the traditional dress and theme. They evenhad a person playing the accordion. Clean, crowded and reservations a must. Traditional decor but dated. Immaculate, modernrestrooms. I would recommend maybe just a bratwurst entree if you want to have the experience but I don?t think the familystyle meal is worth it both in price and taste.
Overall not a bad experience this time. I've been coming here for years, and it hasn't changed much. Although the serving sizes are getting smaller and the prices are getting higher. $30 pp for the chicken dinner is a bit high, considering one person willnever eat that much. Chicken was good, potatoes were good, veggies great, pasta salad and slaw were great, cranberry thing wasnot good, stuffing was wet and mushy. Schnitzel was great. Beans were inedible and crunchy, noodles were bland as was the soup, not worth eating either. You're paying for the experience here, but honestly I'm not sure it's worth it. The decor is indesperate need of upgrading. Next time we will try the place across the street. It looks like they've kept the place updatedover the years.
This place was amazing, and I can?t wait to go back! Our waiter Joey was very attentive and very kind! He even asked the accordion player come over and play for us when I commented on the good memories it was bringing back. The food was really good, and I would like to try more. A great experience for both myself and my 16-year-old daughter who said the restaurant would be atop choice for one of her birthday meals. Thank you!
Visit 12/29/21 Food was good? wait was about 1 hour, but this allows you to go walking around. Staff was friendly, servers were stretched thin, only one busser for entire place. She did amazing. Try the apple strudel! The potato cheese puffs ?you?llask this question? but it is a mashed potatoes deep-fried with cheese. There is no onions for you onion haters out there. They?re heavy? The bread brought to the table was very fresh and good! The noodle soup was excellent! The shops underneathare also amazing! Are you looking for a horse carriage ride they have them!
