Contribuisci feedbackThe concept is: you give the chef carte blanche and they serve you what they want from 2 to 7 courses .... they ask you how many courses ...from 50 to 85 euro .... good wine selection and also wine pairing plus 25 to 40 euro .... and they ask you what you really dont want to eat. so i said no mussels and snails please. we got a light summer menu with fish and veal....a cold potatoe-leek soup and i picked the very good cheese selection.... waiters were super friendly ...sommelier great (i had a nice pinot from germany). i would give it 5 points ....but i think if they do almost every day a different menu ...it blocks a little to work long enough on the courses.... all the dishes were tasty and nice but it was no WOW effect .... what they could do ...because the chef has a michelin star talent. next year i will go again ....
Dinner at Carte Blanche was in our plans for a few months so we were truly excited when we finally got to open to white doors and enter the quirky but very cosy and comfortable, living room-looking restaurant. The bright yet very personal atmosphere set the tone for the rest of the evening. Service was very attentive while friendly and relaxed at the same time. We went for the 7 courses menu: after hearing the ingredients of the day and explaining about our allergies and dislikes we were more then ready to embark upon this gastronomical journey of surprises. And what a journey it was! Fresh fish from the river, spring radishes, pork belly, rhubarb, asparagus, dill, wild garlic. All fresh, seasonal, cooked and prepared with utmost care. A lucky team of chefs that can unleash their creativity this way each night.My warmest congratulations to the team of Carte Blanche - your restaurant brings joy to it's visitor, makes us intrigued and satisfied, lets some indulgence in the ordinary evening. Great, easy and totally unpretentious service, great concept and exceptional food & wines. Casual, very laid-back atmosphere, great sommelier. A must.
The name is given for a reason - you never know what you're going to get. Don't be scared though, the place is close to michelin star level, everything they give you there is simply excellent. On top of that - interesting wine pairing is offered, the staff is friendly, informative and speaks perfect English. So far - the best restaurant we found in Frankfurt
This was our first time here. Carte Blanche is a unique and novel concept. No menus. You tell the wait staff what foods, spices, etc you do not like or are allergic to and the number of courses you would like to have, with or without wine pairings, and they do the rest. Each course is unique and may differ slightly from others at the table based on your preferences. I had the 5-course meal with wine pairings and we (2 couples) split a bottle of champagne to start. At 222 Euros per couple, this was well worth it. This is not, at least for us, an every week type of venue, but definitely something to consider for special occasions.
