ALEX Frankfurt THE SQUAIRE

We were staying at one of the airport hotels and decided to try this restaurant for lunch. It had a very comfortable atmosphere, the waiter was very friendly and the food was surprisingly good. Although we thought we'd just grab a quick bite, we ended up staying for a while and enjoyed it.

Most restaurants at the train station and airport are very poor. ALEX was a very good surprise. Great bar atmosphere, Good drinks, modern design, reasonable prices (unlike other restaurants here). The chicken schnitzel was really good (although, as Germans do, it was swimming in sauce, at least the sauce was very good). The next day I tried the chicken curry hot spicy dish which was wonderful too. Lots of ice creams. Lots of cocktails.

Passing through the airport for the night, stopped by for a burger, a salad and a beer; and both burger and salad were very good. Food came out quickly. Service as very good too. It did not cost as much as it would at a U.S. airport.

Had a quick meal before a flight. Ordered chicken with noodles "terriaki" style with fresh koriander. Well noodles were soft, vegetables frozen and overcooked (soft), grilled chicken (actually it was fried) was dry and there was not any fresh koriander. Also they could not provide me with any soy-sauce. Only "tabasco" was available... All in all, can not be recommended.

Food very poor. Nachos is just a bag of doritos with a pot of fake guacamole and plastic cheese. Veggie burger covered in the same awful guacamole. Not impressed with a restaurant with my name :(
