Patches in walls, shower curtain rod hanging down (therefore shower curtain hangs in tub), no toilet paper holder, towels were stained and not 100% sure the sheets were clean. Staff was very polite but definitely would not stay here again.
I have to say that when you book through hotels.com, it seems like you get the worst room that they have. Our room was at the end of the hall next to the outside door with no lighting at all in that area. We wanted to iron shirts for going out for dinner. The ironing board was ancient and both of us could not figure out how it works. Even the clerk at the front desk couldn 't figure it out. It took 5 minutes to make it work but it was still far too low for a 6-ft 2-in tall person. Sounds like a petty complaint but it shouldnt be difficult to modernize the ironing board. A coffee machine was offered with supplies to make coffee however there were no plugs near the desk at all where the coffee station lived. The only plugs in the hotel room were on the wall about 6 ft from the bed and on the other wall again 6 ft away, and one plug by the bedside, one in the bathroom. I charged my phone in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. When we woke up in the morning our luggage was infested with ants because we left our luggage on a bench that abutted the window sill. I reported it to a bewildered front desk clerk who didn 't send anyone to look at the situation while we were there. The bathroom is very large with one light near the toilet. No light near the shower. The holder for the shower hose faced the room and was useless; it was not directed toward the middle of the tub. It was laying in the tub when I got in the shower. You had to wet yourself first then find the hose with a soapy face to rinse off. For a Wyndham hotel, this was inexcusable. We deserved better. And the continental breakfast, just poor. Enough said.
Awful customer service , small and dingy building and rooms. No microwave, no refrigerator in rooms. Towels old , pillows small, and old...it 's a cheap $60-$70 a night hotel. They charged me a smoking fee cuz they "smelled smoke "y room, #128 is 5 ft from exit door where smoking is happening...company was paying for my room and they billed their card and not my personal card I had on file for incidentals and when I requested they charge the fee to my card and not company clerk got nasty and didn 't want to deal with it and told me I had to leave! It was 9pm and I was forced to get another room because I requested they bill my credit card on file and they didn 't want to bother doing this ..horrible place
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. Cons- There was a hole in the ceiling with wires hanging where should have been a smoke alarm. But with the asbestos ceilings maybe they're not worried. In the bathroom, the drain cover in the sink was stuck down, but wedging the screwdriver tool on my pocket knife kept it open enough that we could use it. The comforter on the bed was so old and ratty that there was a tear almost all the way across that I kept getting tangled up in. They are a multistory building, and there is no elevator. Just what AT hikers taking a day off want- more stairs. And I'm disabled so that was fun. They advertise as having laundry facilities. Silly me for assuming they meant ones that work. Pros! They did have a terrific hiker box though! Shout out to whomever left the mini-poptarts! It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. There is a terrific restaurant in easy walking distance called Fatz. I'm a total foodie and don't say that lightly. I also can't recall the last time I ate at the same restaurant twice in one day. Their grilled same, and grilled chicken were perfectly tender and juicy. There is a Huddle House, Walgreens, Ingles, Three Eagles Outfitters, Happy Family Laundry, SavMor, and lots of fast food options close by.
This place is fine. Room was very musty, but very clean. It really needs a dehumidifier. Front desk lady, Nellie, was a sweet as could be. The room has a mirrored headboard/wall. It's a little freaky and uncomfortable. Bathroom mirror is oddly lit and the closer you get the darker your face. Also odd. Too many mirrors. It's not Vegas or the Poconos. Breakfast has waffles, cereal, breads and pastries, oatmeal/grits, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and juice. Other than 2 small tables around the corner there is no where to sit. This would be hard with a family with little ones or if there were a lot of people in the tiny breakfast area.
