The Tulip And The Rose Cafe - Franklin

In Franklin, there aren't many dining options, and so it's great that the town has The Tulip and the Rose. It's an attractive restaurant, with nice tiles. The staff was friendly. The menu changes, and I think we hit it on a night where the menu wasn't as strong as it usually is. The menu was described as tapas, but it wasn't a typical tapas selection. I did like my grilled shrimp on a polenta cake and a caesar salad. But some of my companions chose the chicken and corn waffles, and both the chicken and the corn waffles were very dry. Also, the small plates took a long time to come out, so while I was still hungry after my three shrimp and small salad there wasn't enough time to order another item before getting to the play we were going to see. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant, because it had a creative kitchen--but also because the only other option in town is a pizza shop.

Excellent, unique food. The menu is always diverse, and the staff are always pleasant. It’s convenient when attending performances at Franklin Stage Company.

Tulip and the Rose Cafe is a great place. Informal, yet lovely. Amazingly good food with creative cooking well executed and served. We had the Caribbean Tapas meal to share among three of us. Perfect amounts. Each dish was individually delicious. (Although, that opening chicken soup was incredible! It was a fun per-theater evening for us. Great atmosphere and welcoming staff. Book a reservation.

I love the interior of this restaurant. It feels like being in the mideast, beautiful decorated with painted tiles on every wall. We had brunch on a Saturday before going to a matinee at Franklin Stage Co. It was delightfully quiet and suited us perfectly as each member of the party had driven about 2 hours to get there. The food is beautifully prepared and delicious.

Great food, great prices and nice people. The menu is a little limited but you can always find something great to eat. Nice back garden if you prefer to eat outside.
