Yats - Franklin

One of my favorite food spots in Franklin area.. been a Yats regular for a while now.. thanks to my friend who introduced this place to me! The taste of their food is GREAT New Orleans style cajun food.. i generally get the 1/2 1/2 plate.. Definitely try the Chicken Maque Choux, Chilli Cheese

Honestly probably the best gumbo restaurant I have ever been to. I'm not one to like gumbo because I feel like the roux has too much of a burnt flavor for me, but this place has changed my mind! Brad was the host and he was super professiona and super helpful when it came to deciding what plate to get. Brad made a sample plate for my partner and I to try. Overall I really enjoyed the friendly/home-like atmosphere. Again very professional/helpful. And the taste over all, the best I have ever tried! Super yummy! And the price was truly surprising! We will for sure be back!

Hidden gem in Franklin TN. Small storefront with decent parking. Walked into the dining area and found counter service with call window pick up showcasing a rotating menu of Cajun food. Jambalaya, gumbo, chicken macque choux.... you can order a 1/2 plate, full plate or 1/2 and 1/2. Gumbo was plentiful but mildly spiced. They provide a ton of hot sauces to add and the prices include taxes. Here's the Breakdown: Cool dudes running the place +1 star; no BS pricing +1 star; plentiful portions +1 star; tasty vittles (would like more spice from the kitchen but I get the control the heat idea) +1 star; Cajun food +1 star. A for sure go back.

The owner is from my hometown of Gretna LA and even though it’s not exactly authentic it is definitely the best I have had outside of New Orleans! Must try and super cheap for the amount of food you get!

This place is great. Small, homey feel to it. Very inviting. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with great kindness and service like none other. I was told about how their menu works and the specials of the day, given great detail on each item and their ingredients, and was even given a sample of each food before making a purchase. All of the choices tasted great. Not to mention the fact that the plate price is super affordable and will keep you feeling good for a long time. The service, again, was great, and I can see why this place is rated as highly as it is. Definitely recommend the place to try out.
