I got a little bit of everything since I’ve never had Jamaican food before and I am now obsessed. Chicken stew, vegetarian curry j chicken were all incredible but the cheese patties?!?!!! I will dream about. Cant wait to order again next week!
I wish I could give it negative stars, but I can 't. I was so excited to see all the Frederick Restaurant Week participants. I figured I get started early. I picked Irie Eats and my whole family was so exited to try it. What a huge disappointment!!! I 'll try and summarize our dismay: DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!! we waited 30+ minutes to receive carry out we received uncooked/doughy coco bread (it was literally NOT cooked the curry chicken was chicken breast (I think with curry sprinkled over it or something to that nature because it absolutely was NOT traditional curry chicken we also ordered jerked chicken and it was so dry it almost started a fire in the box it came in rice was considered a side and not a standard (how does this even make sense? the macaroni and cheese was bland and also dry and this is probably giving it too much credit we got beef patties...they were 3 tiny bite sized patties that resembled little flat cookies that had a spoonful of beef inside (they weren 't bad, but I won 't be suggesting anyone try them the plantains were okay...a little greasy for my liking literally the only thing that tasted good and authentic was the damn Kola Champagne and that 's because it was bottled somewhere else! I normally do not write reviews on public sites, especially not bad ones. But the disappointment on this one required it! This food nearly cost me $70 which included a tip. Even after waiting for over 30 minutes I still tipped just to be thoroughly disappointed, disgusted, and starving. I am so upset! I will never understand how an organization can call themselves authentic and then not even come close. Never again!
Came for lunch today and everything was amazing! The j chicken and brown chicken stew was awesome and the beef patties are out of this world! Will definitely make this a regular spot for lunch!
Was excited to win a gift certificate there and get to try authentic Jamacian food. Things ordered-oxtail with rice n beans and cabbage- fiance LOVED IT ALL. Wished there was more meat- but it's oxtail (expensive meat) so understandable at price.Jerk chicken Alfredo- Delicious! I have 2 preteen girls that over stuffed theirselves eating it bc they didn't want to stop. Small portion was a generous portion!Curry Goat with plantains and rice n beans- very good. Meat was tender spices where nice- I would ask for little more curry taste and sauce to cover rice (I like mixing the meat with rice)but overall very satisfying!brown stewed chicken (I think that was the name) with rice n beans and plantains- my son had this, he said it was good but the chicken needed more flavor. Said it was kind of blan. I didn't try it myself to give opinion, but that was what he opinion was.Lastly the beef patties made fresh- wonderful!!Overall very satisfied- will be going again!!! And the service there was very kind and welcoming!
