Catfish Haven - Fredericksburg

There was hardly any people and they were giving us a hard time seating 11 of us even though there was plenty of room. Then took forever to bring drinks and didn?t give us straws or offer to take our order.

I live nearby and have dined at this restaurant a few times. The food was average, nothing remarkable. I decided to give it another try on a Tuesday night. The place was only about one-fourth full. I stood at the door waiting for a table for at least 5 minutes, but the staff completely ignored me. I eventually gave up and left, and only then did they finally acknowledge us. It was a terrible experience. I will never go back to this restaurant.

Catfish Haven is exactly what you would expect from a Southern restaurant specializing in catfish. The catfish pieces are in strips, so I suggest ordering an extra piece or opting for the all-you-can-eat option. The prices are fair and today's special was a country fried ribeye, which I'll definitely try next time. The coleslaw, catfish, and hush puppies were all delicious. We were seated right away and the restaurant is located away from the busy downtown area, making parking easy.

The restaurant has a warm and cozy ambiance that is both relaxing and rustic. The chicken fried steak was fantastic and huge, and the baked potatoes were also delicious. Despite not being very busy, our food was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering. The men's bathroom was well-maintained. Our server was friendly, easygoing, quick, and knowledgeable.

Visiting from Marble Falls, first time to Catfish Haven. Service was excellent, catfish best I've. Cole slaw and fries super yummy. Reasonably priced. Definitely a go back to place.
