The market also stocks teas, coffee, olive oil, candies, grains, and other staples commonly found in a Turkish kitchen. You'll find refrigerated options featuring a variety of meats and cheeses, as well as pomegranate juice and fruit sodas. The service is friendly and attentive, provided by a genuinely lovely family. Turkish music videos play in the background at a soothing volume, adding to the atmosphere without being intrusive.
We also shared some hummus and baba ghanoush, both of which were tasty and vegan, and we ordered a few rice-stuffed peppers for the table that everyone enjoyed. For my drink, I had the pomegranate iced tea, which was refreshing—not overly sweet or tart. I was pleased to see they had one vegan dessert option: nut cookies. While they weren't the best I've ever had, they were still enjoyable. The restaurant had a wide selection of desserts and salads available for takeout as well. I must not forget to mention their pickled beet salad, which was excellent—I'm a big fan of beets! The prices were quite reasonable too; our total for four people, including several desserts and snacks, came to just over $100. I think I’ve covered everything!
I've been living in King George, VA for four years, but I just had my first experience at Smyrna today. I ordered the Lamb Kofte Kebab and profiteroles for dessert, and the portions were quite generous. I believe the dish could easily serve two, but I savored it all myself! The pricing was reasonable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb, which was cooked to perfection. It brought back memories of the kebabs I had while deployed in Iraq. The bulgur pilaf was also delightful. It's unfortunate that I didn't try Smyrna sooner, especially since I'll be moving away in just a couple of weeks. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine.
