Taj Indian Cuisine - Fredericksburg

The food tasted old and it wasn't good. Don't go back.

We were looking forward to our lunch and expected a regular restaurant with the advertised menu. Instead there was a buffet with a number of offers, but no lamb, eggplants, fish etc. — only vegetarian or chicken with naan and spices / yoghurt sides. We heard there was dessert and tea, but decided not to risk it. I wouldn't have ordered any of these dishes if we had the regular menu. We were disappointed, but if people know before time, this is more cafeteria than fine food, maybe they would tolerate the buffet and appreciate the prices. The prices were not reasonable, so remember as a cheap Indian cafeteria when you drive there for lunch. The service and the ambience were good. The server mentioned that they expected that the hurricane could keep people away. (Sees strange because it wasn't nearby and the prognosis had it in the opposite direction, but maybe that's why they didn't cook to order. Anyway, we won't be back to find out.

We had a horrible experience here on Valentines Day no less. We had reservations for 7. Showed up and watched two couples who got there after us with no reservation seated before us. Finally seated 10 min later it took another 20 min later to get just water and another 10 to get a waitress to order. We ordered from the kitchen and about 45 min later the manager tells us to grab a small plate from buffet while we wait, best part of the night. Long story short, hour and a half later we ask about our food. Nobody knows but says (again) it's coming soon. Waitresses kept asking us what we needed and if we wanted to pay (thinking we got buffet) despite repeated tales of our long wait and no food yet. Wife couldn't even get her drink she ordered in an hour and a half. We walked out the door and didn't look back. Way to ruin a special night. A simple if you order from kitchen it'll be awhile would have sufficed when we sat down and we'd had done the buffet. But the sheer confusion and lack of any attentiveness was absolutely ridiculous. We will not be returning. Ever. Nor recommending this place to anyone. Head next door to Aladdin, you won't be disappointed.

The food was amazing the server was very personable. We really enjoyed the Taj!

Really good food.... Mediocre service, but rather expensive.
