The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and offers delicious food. A small issue we encountered was promptly addressed and resolved with great politeness. The menu features Thai and Chinese cuisine, as well as sushi. The presentation of the dishes is beautiful.
Drunken noodles are one of my favorite dishes in the world, but unfortunately, that’s not the case here. The flavors are all over the place and don’t come together well. There’s nothing nice about it; the sauce was missing. The only upside was that I had some extra tofu and a side of sauce, which made lunch a bit better. This is just one of those dishes that doesn’t travel well.
I ordered from Thai Town 56 because my usual Thai restaurant was closed. Unfortunately, it was definitely not a good Thai dining experience. I ordered a Thai lamp soup, but I received a Chinese wonton soup instead—two very different dishes. The pad Thai was overcooked, the noodles were clumped together, and there was no flavor at all. There were so many noodles that the pad Thai turned out very dry, with no sauce to speak of. We also ordered the sesame chicken, but it was overcooked and tough. I won’t be ordering from here again. It was a waste of $40.
While the portions were generous, the Pad Thai was dry and lacking in flavor, with the noodles clumping together. If the owner acknowledges that the Pad Thai is subpar, then a change is necessary. Other restaurants don’t seem to have these issues, so there’s no reason why this one should.
