A R's Cafe - Freeport

Ordered something new plates came to $32.00 dollars but no beans and rice on the Tampequena plate? When I called and said it says online that every plate comes with beans and rice, I was rudely informed all the information has to be screen shot because they do not have a online service or Goggle account at all. Yet I only know the number from the ads online and the menu, in one place it even has a help needed ad for Freeport, Texas. When I called to tell her maybe you might need to check because it says all plates come with beans and rice we had a brief talk and mid sentence she hung up on me!!! I have bought food here often and I guess if I order I need to stick to lunch specials because even when I order on the lunch menu I get beans and rice and its cheaper!!! Lol!! I could have bought 4 lunch specials for this price, so if I go again it will only be a special with no venture into anything off menu!!!!!!! Lol!!

It is seems as if AR's is understaffed due to them having only one waitress today. She had the worst customer service skills. Did not acknowledge us upon entering this establishment and went on to taking orders for clients who came in after my party. It pained her to clean our table which should have been cleaned after the last patron who had occupied it. She finally provided a menu and took order for drinks but that was the end of her assistance, since she did not bother to see if we were ready to order. We waited several minutes before deciding to walk out. Our friend went to pay for his soft drink but was about to be over charged by the manager who did not say anything when advised of the waitresses appalling attitude and lack of service provided. Normally we have dealt with other employees who could teach this person and I mean the word person in the loosest sense of the word in her case how to do her job. She had the facial expression of a Sour patch doll and should not be in this line of work if does not have the capacity as a human being in dealing with the public in this role.

AR's is a clean, friendly place. The food is really good and the portions are the right size. If you want to enjoy every last bite of your meal this is a good place. The portions are not huge and that is a good thing. I like the menu. I wish they were open for supper as it is not convenient for my wife and I to meet there for lunch.

You can NOT beat the breakfast tacos here! They are the best in Brazoria County! The size alone are enough to feed you for 2 days unless you get the Gorda, you can eat that for 3 day! And the rest of their menu is just as delicious! Staff is amazing also!

We just moved here from KC and AR’s staff welcomed us with smiles, food suggestions, jokes and swift service. The food was excellent!
