Irodion - Freiburg im Breisgau

This is a Greek restaurant with delicious dishes. This is wonderful and the place is cozy and so good for family and meetings.

No guests sat like at the main entrance and we were plucked through the back into the main area, but it's awfully dark there and saw how I didn't have to make mysterious deals that we sat in the brightness at the front of the... so that we could see the food better. We got two free ouzos. We chose an octopus salad to start and fried eggplant slices served with a puppet game by tzatziki (powdered garlic version). Aubergines perfect and the plentiful octopus salad beautiful and glutinous, although some people do not like to enjoy so much. Half a litre Kechribari Retsina was not enough, so we ordered half a litre house white a sharp and sweet Moschifilero oooh jaaaa! Next came a **** or Germanized Greek court, but one of my favorite dishes of all time. It is Gyros meat, baked in the oven in the heavy cream and Metaxa and dusted with cheese. It is basically German engineering on Greek fast food to make it even richer. Perfect in winter, or if you're dead hungry. It is served with tasty french french fries. Had another half kilo of Moschifilero to punish us and fish with Milos, Sifnos, Lipsi and mahi mahi. Overall, the service was great, but the boss seems to wish for a fine culinary experience for her guests and it doesn't match the taverna style food we had. It is usually quite a beautiful place, not expensive and the food definitely put me in the mood (67 euros for all above). Very nice experience, thank you.

I am a regular customer of this restaurant since its opening. It serves Greek cuisine. I spent part of my life in Greece to find Greek restaurants. This is far above the quality of the average Greek restaurant in Germany....In Freiburg it is the best I know. I especially recommend their lamb dishes, but neither I nor any of my friends were ever disappointed by any court. I personally like the interior, but that may be taste. However, it is certainly very good that the restaurant is very spacious. The tables are at a reasonable distance from each other. This is a beautiful place to have a calm conversation. It is a place that is preferred for working dinner with colleagues. It is also good for larger parties. Prices are also favourable.

Nice restaurant with big menu. They offer a big variety of greek style (well german greek style) food. The portions are quite big. The served food was good seasoned and tastefull. Surely one of the better greek restaurants in Freiburg.

The restaurant is simply delicious. Very tasty food (especially the souvlaki and gyros) and the portions are huge. It has an english menu as well. Very polite, friendly and helpful service. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere with the greek music playing in the background. Whenever...I am back in Freiburg im Breisgau, I will definitely have my lunch or dinner here.
