In Passau we crossed the bridge over the Danube and drove 3 miles to Hinding in Austria. Why? because restaurant Blaas on the hill has the best view of Passau and the 3 rivers. Eat on the terrace, enjoy the food and take...in the unsurpassed view. plenty of space for the kids to walk and lots of space to park the car.

The Cafe Blaas is a small hiding place over the city of Passau! Provides a magnificent view over the city that shows all 3 rivers! The food is typical Austrian and excellent value for money! Inhave traveled the world! This is a small Austrian jewel... about wonderful Passau! The cleanest toilets in Europe! This is the best business card for every restaurant!

Great meals at reasonable prices, but the selling point is the beautiful view of Passau and the Inn, Ilz and Danube rivers over there in Germany. Worth a visit. You can get there from Passau in about 10 minutes.

About a year ago I checked Cafe Blaas with a title that says everything: politics, kindness, good manners, helpful and warm hearty settings are also part of the menu here... After about a year and several visits I am happy to confirm that everything... I mentioned above is still part of the culture here and this must definitely do with people and management. I do not know whether it is a family business or not that you can find bad and excellent management in any kind of business. I wish the Blaas staff to stay on this level personally, I see many challenges for a place to degrade their offers (food, wine, etc., but the critical factor refers to the list above: courtesy, friendliness, good manners, helpful and warm hearty attitude. We was there with a friend on our bicycle trip.The road from Danube river is little bit like a mountain premium but the award on the top is that cafe.Beautiful view to Passau city with confluence of three rivers Danube,Inn and Ilz.Sitting on a terrace...with icecream and coffee was a great reward.Standard prices and pleasant staff.
