As a regular in frejus we make a pint of checking the weekly list of plat de jour for a weekly visit. This place is banged out with locals every lunch time. Make sure you are there before one of the dish of the day is a popular one. We always think they could do with more staff but If you are happy to fall into a slow French lunch that is not a problem. The food is all home cooked and it feels like it is very much a piece of France.
We have eaten here on many occasions when we have visited the area because it is not a typical tourist restaurant. It offers typical French fare that is simple but tasty. There is a special each day and when we visited it was a fish stew (a little in the style of Bouillabaisse). It was very good. We opted for the main & dessert menu option at 14.90 Euros and this also included a 1/4 carafe of rose wine - 2 course meal and glass of wine for 4 at just over £40. The charm of this restaurant is the simplicity of the food and the fact that you dine amongst the locals taking their lunch break. Very relaxed atmosphere and the waitress very friendly.
So good to find a place like this still a success after many years . The rabbit I had just great and the simple steak frite just that, and dam good.
Good choice of menus reasonably priced and the food has never disappointed. Normally a selection of 4 or 5 starters, same with main course, and more with desert. Food is always freshly prepared and portions are always enough for a 6'3" hungry Scotsman :-)
