Il Calcio - Fresnay-sur-Sarthe

This small restaurant in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe has enjoyed very well. excellent food and service! our server had difficulty with English for a few things (between his English and French we were able to communicate to most things) so he went and got a member of the...kitchen staff to help. very nice people who made us feel at home. the beer was fresh, the wine was even better and my calzone was excellent. large portions with a lot of filling for 9.50 euro. good selection of menus. everyone loved what he had and it was a great little eating after a long day of the tour. we were in a position, sitting outside on table with plexi glass from the street paragliding. a great way to enjoy a meal on a sunny day. recommended if they are close.

We had not booked, and it was quite busy, but the staff tried to accommodate us. the pizzas were delicious fresh bases and plentiful toppings! it was great!

We had pizza which was just passable and a really dire salad. It contained limp greens and brown mushy avocado, and soggy mango. It was vile. There’s not a lot of choice in Fresnay on a Wednesday night and I would recommend going to Beaumont...sur Sarthe and dining at the Logis.

Really great restaurant the food is really tasty I can recommend the calzone and the creme brûlée. We had a fantastic meal and the staff were lovely. All dishes were reasonably priced.

Very good quality Italian restaurant. There is a large choice of pizzas. The lunch menu is probably one of the best deals in the area but you need to get there exactly between 12 and 1.30. My only problem with this restaurant is the staff....They can be extremely pleasant or completely dreadful, very fast or completely forget about. It really varies from one day to the next...
