Both were very good, my favorite was the green chili. I visited the food truck so I can't say much about the restaurant interior but we will definitely be stopping by and having lunch there soon!
Food was phenomenal. Pineapple tamales were so delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Golden Tamale is still the golden standard for me when it comes to tamales. I was fast becoming a regular here when I worked in the office in downtown Fresno. This is because the tamales are absolutely amazing! I have rarely tried tamales whether they are filled with pork or chicken that are packed with so much meat and sauce in them and they are always freshly made. The masa, which is a corn based dough that surrounds the filling and most people will tell you this shell determines the quality of the tamales is very moist and light. Golden Tamale adds the sauce in the tamales (not just separately on the side) so the meat really seals in the flavors of the spices. Red sauce is used for the pork and green chile sauce is for the chicken. Both meats are incredibly delicious, tender, and juicy. There is nothing like authentic dishes freshly homemade from scratch. The taste of freshness is unmistakable and you can just tell each tamal is made with a lot of care and pride in the way it is prepared. This is because the very grandmother of the owners who handed down the recipes and inspired them to open a restaurant featuring her prized dishes still makes them herself in the back kitchen. Additionally, I tried the tacos and the chile verde bowl. but the tamales are clearly the star of the show. Overall, 4.5 stars, including excellent customer service.A single tamale is $2.50 each. A dozen is $25. Their lunch menu has expanded since my last visit. Look for the Golden Specials on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Very disappointed after the stint on Dine and Dish I am starting to believe Dale 's pallate needs some testing. Tamales are ok but way over priced at $4.00 each unless you really like paying for Massa. I have had a lot better down on Belmont. I will not return.
Wow! Homemade tortillas! Fresh. Fast. Delicious. You can tell it’s family owned and that they take pride in the business. They should be proud. The guy who rang me up was so nice and ran to get me napkins before I left.
