I've been coming here since the 90s, but the restaurant has been around since the 70s. It's in the same location, making it easy to find. Looking forward to my next visit!
The tamales are outstanding, and I’ve never had jalapeño and cheese tamales before—they are amazing! Plus, the red salsa is to die for!
Love love love absolutely love the fools here. Myb favorite are the Jalapeno cheese and spicy pig they have others on the menu. They also have chili con queso, salsa, cheesecake. You'll never regret the delicious food from Hot Tamales.
**Update 09/01:** I decided to give them another shot, thinking that perhaps my last batch was just an off day. I was right! The tamales I got this time were not dry at all—moist, flavorful, and intact, unlike my first order. I had a good experience on my first visit, so I returned to give them more business. This time, I ordered a dozen tamales, along with chips and salsa. Unfortunately, I noticed when I got home that the salsa was missing from my order. I had even tipped 20% for the service, which shouldn’t be required until after receiving the full order. I requested a refund for the missing salsa, and they said they'd call me back, but it’s been 45 minutes without a response. I’ll take away a star for that. Just a tip: if you order from here, make sure to check your bag before you leave! **Update:** I was pleasantly surprised by the large bag of chips! The tamales are a delightful mix of sweet and savory, though they are a bit dry for my liking. They’re on the smaller side, but the quantity is satisfactory. You can choose to buy a dozen fresh for $9 or a dozen frozen for $8. They offer a variety of tamales including spicy pork, mild pork, chicken, and bean options. Each order includes a choice of salsa: red for spicy and green for zesty. They also have guacamole and queso available, but those come at an extra cost. Overall, a dozen should be enough to satisfy one person's cravings. The prices are fair and the flavors are good, but I’ve deducted a star due to the dryness. For my order, I got a dozen pork and chicken tamales along with one side of chips and green salsa, totaling $25 with the 20% tip. I enjoyed their offerings and will certainly be back for more! **Original Post:** I just placed an order. The staff was friendly, and the prices are reasonable. These two aspects alone would earn this place three stars, but it’s the overall experience that could make it a five-star place. I’ll update my review after I receive my order. Here’s a picture of the food truck from today. I usually don’t order from food trucks, but I’m feeling ravenous! Lol.
It was awesome. My first time going with friend. The cheese was amazing. When ever I'm in the area aging I will return.
