I visited Edoko on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM. My last visit to this establishment was 7-8 years ago. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an unpleasant odor reminiscent of sewage, which is highly unusual for a sushi restaurant. There were 3-4 hostesses standing around despite the few customers present. Although we were seated promptly, I noticed a similar lack of activity among the waitstaff. Our server greeted us quickly but showed little interest in upselling or providing useful information about the specials. When the sushi arrived, we were served two rolls priced at approximately $36. These rolls appeared hastily assembled, with minimal sauce garnish. While I'm not overly concerned with presentation, I expected more from signature rolls at a sushi restaurant, where presentation is typically a point of pride. The rolls were mediocre at best, lacking any distinctive qualities that would justify a return visit. I hope this was an off day for the restaurant and staff. However, the multitude of issues during this visit leaves me reluctant to give Edoko another chance.
The sushi was good. It could’ve been more crunchy but generally, it was really good and the location was so nice. Great for date nights.
After years of coming here (as long as they’ve been open), including take out at least a few times a month, I think we’re going elsewhere. Called in an order tonight and when I questioned the total, she told me that their system charges more for take out orders. This was a phone order, not using a third party app. The price she gave me was $8 more than their online menu. I asked her if she was sure, because I hadn’t noticed this before. She said yes and that they haven’t changed their pricing recently, so apparently I have been overpaying and not even realizing it. I canceled the order and ordered from a different sushi restaurant. I’m really disappointed. This was our fav, but just can’t support that business practice.
Nice place. Great fish, fresh. The atmosphere was fairly quiet rather than the cement floors and high ceilings that can sometimes be noisy.
