Woody's Sports - Frisco

I’d call this place officially dead. Have been coming here since it opened as Varsity 20 some years ago. Have tried it a few times since they split it into an Indian place up front and a cave in the back.

Why did they divide the space? It feels dark and gloomy with no windows. It would be great to have a large garage door to open it up, especially since it's now tucked away behind an Indian restaurant. I really love this place and the servers, but the atmosphere could definitely use some light.

Please hire a cleaning company and clean your restrooms! They’re filthy! Service is awesome! Staff is awesome. Food is great! It’s a great little cozy neighbor bar and worth it if you’re into small sports bars with big screens. The service makes this place, especially Gaby. I feel like “Norm” fromCheers when I walk in. They know your name!! ?

Amazing place for wings and drinks. Enjoyed the dart game.

Heard through the grapevine that Woody’s was a Chicago Bears bar and since I’m a big fan, I thought I’d give it a try. There was a lot of Bears fans so I was excited right off the bat. Sat down no more than 10 feet from the bar and it mostly went downhill from there. Server walked up to us after about 10 min of sitting and just stared. Didn’t say hi, didn’t bring a menu, just eyeballs. I finally said hi after an awkward few seconds and asked for a beer and a menu. About 10 min later, I got my beer but no menu. 15 min later (after the server went out for a smoke break), I got my menu well, because I went on the website… never got an actual menu. Sat for over an hour before we got our wings… it was a mess. I’ll still give it another shot next year since it’s a Bears bar but if it wasn’t, not sure I’d be back spending over $100 on that service.Wings were great tho!
