Měi くり - Fujikawaguchiko

Arrived in the evening at the kawaguchiko station and most shops are closed when we arrived in our accommodation. happy that this cozy little family-run restaurant right behind our accommodation. didn't expect much, but it was so good! the price was also reasonable!

This is a small house-based restaurant near oike park and the many hotels that kawaguchiko’s ufer do. it is cozy and super cheap (they would spend here about 1500 yen for eating and drinking) and that eating is good! if it is full, it takes some time to get her eating to them, but there is a lot to admire about the equipment they have while waiting for her to eat. eating is large, and the portion size is greater than normal. we had the Sashimi bald set (teishoku) and the karaage teishoku, and both were amazing. I would definitely come back here!

The chicken caraage set ordered for dinner, as the toncatsu set is only available during lunch. huh was crispy, salat dressing was tasteful and the next dishes were also good. added a chawanmushi and it was smooth with very many ingredients. must wait until the dishes are served as they are prepared in front of the place. Total ¥1600 (1100 500)

It looks like someone's house but with a couple of flags out front. Upon opening the door we were greeted by a lovely lady who sat us down and handed us menus and showed us the recommendations. Shrimp or chicken tempura, we had the chicken and it was amazing. With hot sake was only 2700 yen for two. Hidden little gem!

A small teishoku (set meal) place, inexpensive but great quality. The four available sets (tempura, chicken, shrimp, sashimi) are each 1300JPY. Very friendly owner. The restaurant is also English friendly.
