As other reviewers said, the music is very nice; they play guitar covers of modern pop songs. It is definitely a hole in the wall (the kind where you discover before it becomes famous).Service: Our waiter (Calvin) was very friendly and knew the answers to our questions right away. He even offered recommendations when he saw my partner debating. We decided to share the house pho and special vermicelli and our waiter brought out extra dishes so we could share easier.Food: we ordered 3 dishes (fresh rolls aka pork spring rolls, house pho, and special vermicelli). The fresh rolls were quite tasty, but I would have preferred a bit more vermicelli noodles to balance out the leafy greens. We requested the shrimp be removed from the vermicelli and they adjusted to give us more egg roll and pork. The perfectly crispy egg rolls were super tasty and slightly different from the typical egg roll... they also serve their fish sauce different (its less fishy and more spice/garlicky). The meat was very thin and tinder with a good amount of smoky char. The vermicelli was also perfectly cooked. The pho was the star of the show. The broth was so satisfying. They had just the right amount of saltiness and the meat and noodles were perfectly cooked. We also ordered a Thai tea. It was much bigger than expected. Theirs is on the sweeter side, but not as sweet as many boba places. The sweetness matches very well with the saltiness of the pho.
Finally visited Pho A'mie w a mama friend on a Tuesday for lunch 04.02.23Wanted some pho for my coughs had Pho A'mie on my radar for quite some time.Cute Vietnamese w a French fusion restaurant. Decor was really cute yet simple. With some history of pho chalk art on wall.Service was great, friendly attentive.Associates Kept coming to check in on us, asked how we were doing with our food.We received our food pretty fast. What we ordered: special combo Pho with added Rib Eye Bone was good. There's only one size of pho. Lots of noodles and the bowl can actually be shared. The rib eye was so tender, meat literally fell off the bone. Broth was clean good. One of a local pho place that's good. Shrimp Sautée w Garlic noodles were yummy. Shrimp was huge good size noodles were good flavoring along w shrimp. Wasn't spicy at all. Served in a sizzling plated cast iron like skillet. They have Brick macaron ice cream sandwiches here.I was in Placentia/Fullerton area for errands.Located in the same plaza as Pepe's Our Nest brunch spot. A few doors down. Lots of parking available.Definitely recommended. They offer banh mi too.I'll be back to try out other stuff on their menu in the future.
Just go here. Now, if you can.Pho A’mie is the quintessential hidden gem. Especially to dodos like me who saw it on Yelp and Google Maps but didn’t check it out sooner just because they didn’t have a number in their name. This restaurant is owned by a wonderful Vietnamese family and it is managed by one of the best business owners I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. We came here on a whim to get some catering. And my only regret is not coming here years earlier.I won’t only be back — but I’ll make sure to get catering here as frequently as possible. They deeply care about the quality of their food and the local community.Protect Pho A’mie at all costs.
Clean small restaurant in a strip mall with quiet booths and good presentation of food. I got the house special vermicelli which was really tasty and the A’mie sample rolls. The sample rolls was a fresh shrimp spring roll, a fresh pork spring roll, and then 2 fresh rolls that had fried egg rolls inside of them (odd to me), which were very lackluster and the peanut sauce and other dipping sauce lacked flavor. Overall would order the vermicelli again as it was a solid good option and skip the spring rolls.
The food is great when it's accurate. Half the time, I've gotten the wrong food and when I call for a refund, they tell me because I ordered on their chowhound website, they can't give me a refund, which is a lie because they've done it before. I like the food, so when they offered me a gift card last time they got my order wrong, I said OK. I found out I could only use it in-store. And just so you know that I'm not being petty, when I say they didn't get my order right, I'm saying that they literally gave me beef instead of chicken. On 2 other orders, they gave me seafood in my husband's chicken fried rice and he doesn't eat seafood. The only reason why I kept getting food from this place is because the food is good, so if you just want to know the food is good, it is.
