Disappointed with our experience. The food was sub par at best which would have been ok but the service was awful. We spent an hour and half in a nearly empty restaurant. The prices were too high for the food we ate. I would not recommend it.

I was so disappointed and pissed off by the end of my meal. The food here has no flavor. None at all. The fish didn't even taste like fish. I can not describe how angry I was at the plate. Salad bar....lovely. Good choices. Oddly no cheese. Gumbo was ok. Shrimp way overcooked but the broth was delicious. We should have left then and there. My husband got some dry snapper that looked like it was dryer than a cotton ball. My fried fish was absolutely tasteless. I didn't even eat 80% of my meal because it was gross. Plain and simple. My husband wanted to eat here for so long because it is always crowded. The good Lord himself would have to bring me back here to eat again. That's what it would take.

So my wife and I have always had high expectations, with it always being packed and the appearance and location. We get there and get seated, first a table in a corner, but hostes moved us to a table with a view. The trade off we were unaware of was water was dripping on us from the AC, we tried situating the table, but water dropped on us at least 3 times we had to dry ourselves. I tried to order sweet tea, but was giving the choice of unsweetened and sugar packets. Now that's a personal pet peeve of mine, unsweetened and packet sugar is not sweet tea, and you are a restaurant in the South. We ordered our food and I asked for loaded bake potatoe, what was brought was an un seasons potato in aluminum foil, with packets of butter and cheese, that I had to make my own loaded potato. I'm surprised I wasn't asked to cook my fish. Speaking of fish, we both ordered fish and they both came completely bland, I mean no seasoning at all, even the bread on the catfish my wife order had no flavor, the fish didn't have fish flavor. How does a restaurant on the water have fish that doesn't even taste like fish. It was very disappointing, and will not be going back. Oh and the entire meal my drink was 1/4 full and finished still with no refill. The salad dressing was good.

Location was great, atmosphere pretty good, food not so much and wait staff nonexistent. Fried combo plate. Fish, shrimp, scallops and peel and eat shrimp. First, food was not hot. Fried shrimp and scallops good, peel and eat shrimp good also, shrimp gumbo nice. Fish was two preformed squares, like from a food service company. Baked potatoes not bad. I saw the server twice, once when she took the order and once when she brought it to us. Ran out of tartar sauce and drinks, tea,water and 1 beer. Missed opportunity.

Miss the old days when the food had flavor at CP’s. They should consider dropping the price on the six piece shrimp platter. The shrimp was tiny with the worst rice ever to accompany dish. What happened to giving the customer a mint after dining in at your establishment .25 is the going price now. Thank goodness for the salad bar.
