Chafariz Gelataria Cafetaria - Funchal

Went here three times in a week. Amazingly friendly staff, tasty reasonably priced food and the coldest beer in Funchal.

We basically popped in for a drink to wait for darkness to descend and the Christmas lights to be on. As with what seems all places in Funchal, the staff are delightful, charming, polite, welcoming and humble all at the same time. We have never known anything like it. Well done you. Just wish we had found you at the beginning of our holiday. We could do to transport their attitudes home

Stopped off for afternoon drinks (beer wine) and snacks sitting outside. Nice corner venue and excellent service and chat with the Owners. Tried some traditional Madeira Cake made from sugar cane honey with raisins and walnuts, not expecting a dark coloured cake but was delicious. Overall a very pleasant and enlightening experience
