I had a broken femur and could not go well on a cripy, and we were not sitting on one of the empty tables close to, but...total all gone around the back of the restaurant! I was in so much pain! the bill came my son has tipped 20.00 to a 62,00 bill. my son gave his 20.00 tipp personally to the waitress. my son then gave 4 twenty dollar bills on the bill expected to change back 18.00. my son waited for his change when the waitress asked him what he needed, he said he needed his change. the waitress was angry at him, she thought that the extra was her tipp! my son said I've already given you 20.00 for a tip, I can't give you 18.00 more! the service was terrible! that was the gadsden, alabama red lobster we didn't want to go back there.
Lots of parking, the lot was clean and attractive landscaping. The inside was out dated and dark but clean. No crowd at lunch, reasonably staffed. Group of five at lunch from work, the food was good. I would recommend the salmon, it wasn’t hot by the time it got to the table but it was seasoned very well. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. You have to pay at the table on a never working self check out. One person paid their ticket and it stopped working. After three attempts through the nonchalant hostess to get the server back to the table to process our ticket, it was 20 minutes. This is a big deal to me if I am pressed for time. Even though the food was good I will not be eating at Red Lobster. There are too many other places that are more efficient in all categories.
Red Lobster is decent food and the price is ok. The price could be better. Had a really good server named Jamie. She was very attentive. Always had a full drink and she seemed quite happy to keep my all you can eat shrimp flowing. I would recommend a visit especially during all you can eat shrimp.
Food took quite a while. The portion sizes seem to have decreased since the last time we ate here a couple of years ago. The biscuits had no cheddar! Sacrilege!!! They were still delicious. Seriously though, the waitress was not cut out for this job. Some of that could have been a result of the poor treatment she was receiving from the customers behind us, though. As expensive as it is here, you kind of want most of your experience to be exceptional. None of it was.
Being in Gadsden Alabama going out for a special meal always meant Red Lobster. I'm afraid after today's experience I will never go to this restaurant again. First of all there were none of the famous cheddar biscuits we had to wait for them to be made. I had the ultimate feast it was served without the crab legs. The fried shrimp tasted like they hadn't changed the oil in several days. The lobster tasted like it was overcooked. In all fairness the baked potato was absolutely delicious. The only bright aspect of our dinner was our server Gavin. He kept apologizing for all the delays in the food and the biscuits in fact at one point he had to stop serving the tables and had to go back and make some biscuits which he did an awesome job of.
