Fabulous goat cheese and honey pastries on the one hand (still thinking about those) and then rubbery burnt steak (I asked for rare)! and soggy chips on the other. Asked for mayonnaise to make the foul steak edible and they brought me ketchup. But other people had much better food, so not sure what to make of that, and they staff were very sweet. Also the restaurant cat was cute!
The location is delightful (if you like planes, it is even better)! and the welcome from the maitre d'hote was superb - intelligent, accommodating and listening. We appreciated a delicious red wine from the thoughtful list, and the portions served of all dishes were generous. One of the tapas with parmesan, with the restaurant's excellent bread, was memorably enjoyable, as was the main course trout chosen by one of us. There is a problem, perhaps, with pre-preparation - so salads seem slightly limp and tasteless. Not sure about the pedigree of the chef's professional experience? A lot of clients semed to have turne dup to enjoy an after-work drink, where food was not the priority.
Located at Gaillac airfield offering large terrace and quite attractive dining room and excellent good value menu this is my No 1 eatery in Gaillac, well perhaps 1st equal with Fil aux Saisons. Excellent tapas as starters and then we shared, between 4, two large entrecôte which were tender and perfectly booked. Service not the best but very welcoming.
We dropped in for lunch and had a good meal. Would be a great place in warmer weather with the terrace and airfield views. Currently appears to be closed weekday evenings.
Whilst the atmosphere was perfect the escalope was almost impossible to cut and when a piece was sliced off it was so chewy as to be indigestible
