My total bill was $13.01, and I gave him a twenty-dollar bill. He returned a bunch of ones that I didn't count and went to get change, but I told him to keep the change. He got mad and said, "I paid for your food." Well, I only gave him a couple of cents toward the food. I explained that I thought I was giving him a tip of nearly a dollar. The most frustrating part was when I called the restaurant to complain, and they told me I should consider that the driver had to use gas to get to my place. They didn't seem to care that I wouldn’t be coming back as a customer, and I found that really offensive. If delivery drivers need to have a certain pay rate, that should be communicated upfront when ordering. A tip should be offered based on good service. Additionally, if the driver had such an attitude, they should at least provide good food. But that's just my opinion. Oh, and just so you know, a proper tip on a $13 tab is $1.30.
