Ingredients were fresh and dish overall was seasoned nicely, but they went a bit slim on the cheese. For a similarly well-prepared dish with much bigger portions for the money, I recommend the El Paisano from Las Avina in either Archer or Newberry.Sope was tasty and fresh, and the corn bread was nice and savory with the chorizo and toppings.Overall food was really good, but in future I will absolutely avoid the fish and won 't take a chance on their seafood. I say this because after trying their single $4.25 fish taco, a small flour tortilla with just several teeny tiny fried fish nuggets and toppings. It 's a ripoff, and given they 're near several hotels by the interstate it 's understandable to expect. I can only guess they 'll be similarly miserly with their scallops, shrimp, and other fish dishes and as a local I won 't take the chance. If you want a decent fish taco, try either El Indio location in town, they are far more generous with the actual fish and I don 't believe they use the low grade tilapia El Dorado does.Edited a few hours later to add that I suspect the taco 's mayo-based dressing made me feel ill, guess it tasted slightly off for a reason.Overall good take-out experience despite portion sizes and iffy taco.
Great little Mexican spot. Quality food, including Tex-Mex dishes you rarely find on the east coast. Once they get their liquor license this place will be hopping!
Outside needs some work, gives you bad restaurant vibes, inside is beautiful the style and the building great, service, but the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely one of the most flavored authentic Mexican restaurants in Gainesville.
This was my first time at this Mexican restaurant , the scenery of the place honestly looked really nice, it looked promising, but when we got our food it was not good at all, ide be better off going to a fast food place. One of the chicken enchiladas we ordered tasted and smelt sea foody, and i dont get how you can mess up a burrito, but somehow this place did, tremendous. The reviews of this place is so questionable, I don’t get how it had a 4-5 average star rate, this is my last time coming to this place.
Hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've been to.As you enter, the colors are a feast for the eyes. There is a pond under the deck with koi.The interior is decked with color and streamers. The staff are courteous and prompt, and conversational. The food portions are generous for the price.Found this place on the way traveling, and if it were local to me, would be one of my go to restaurants.
