Shula's Steak House Gainesville

I had a wonderful time celebrating my fifth anniversary at this restaurant. Our waiter provided excellent service, and although the bottle of Prosecco we wanted was unavailable, he handled the situation very well. My only suggestion would be to lower the lighting in the restaurant; it felt a bit too bright and could benefit from a more romantic ambiance.

I strongly advise against dining here! The service is incredibly disappointing. I was at the bar and placed my order at 6:39 PM after waiting 15 minutes for a bartender to show up. I simply ordered a burger with crispy fries. By 7 PM, I asked the bartender how much longer it would take. I wasn’t in a rush, understanding that staff shortages are common these days. The bartender assured me it wouldn’t be long. Meanwhile, he served another couple at the end of the bar who had ordered two quesadillas and two orders of wings. A manager in a red shirt brought their food out at 7:19 PM. Can you believe that?

During my work trip, I had the pleasure of dining at Shula's three times. I enjoyed the scallops, truffle fries, seared tuna appetizer, lobster bisque, Caesar salad, tomato burrata salad, and wedge salad, along with several spicy margaritas. Each meal was delicious, with perfectly balanced flavors. The restaurant itself was very clean, and the staff were exceptionally polite.

I had reservations on Sunday. The restaurant had one other couple. When I arrived I was seated at a table for 2, and the table cloth looked like someone had wadded it up, wrinkled it beyond use, then put it on the table. I mentioned this to the hostess, who laughed, and did not offer to move me. then I mentioned it to the waiter, who again laughed and did not offer to move me. The steak was pretty good but embers has them beat. The lobster was very dry. I?ve never left half a lobster on my plate before. The server wasn?t super informed but friendly. One of my drinks had a bug in it. I had a few sips so that was super gross but I did get a new one. I will say overall flavor of the drinks was phenomenal. The fries lack salt and flavor. The potato au gratin was a favorite though. It?s good. But it?s not excellent. It?s definitely not worth $200 for 2
