Hunan Best - Gaithersburg

The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating, though it was a bit on the slow side. It seemed like takeout orders were given priority, which I suspect is a significant part of their business. My group of eight had the restaurant mostly to ourselves. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were what you would expect—not huge, but definitely a great value for the price. Most of the dishes included broccoli, which was very fresh. Honestly, the broccoli elevated my experience from 4 stars to 5!

My kids and I have been visiting this restaurant for years, and it never disappoints. The food is fantastic, and the staff is always friendly. Even though my son has moved away, I make sure to eat here whenever he's back in town. He has adored General Tso's Chicken since he was little, while my personal favorite is the crispy Aubergine. My husband can't get enough of the Beijing duck. There truly is something for everyone!

Unfortunately, this local gem will be closing its doors next week as the owners retire. They serve the best dumplings and soup, and the friendly family that runs the restaurant truly makes it special. It's some of the finest Chinese food in Maryland, and I'm really sad to see it go.

Eating is always good. I always get the same order... egg drop soup, spring roll, my and Hunan shrimps. Delish!
