But if you make the effort to go a bit out of the way you will agree it is totally worthwhile. We went today for the first time and will definitely be back. Best queso fundito and carnitas I've ever had.
What a find! We found it on Yelp when we went through the Interstate. Located in a residential area, we were initially skeptical. The four of us all had a different court, everyone better than the last. Great and super friendly service!
Can't believe how cheap this place is. Spent just $11 on lunch for two. What?? Weird location in a neighborhood with no parking. But clean, friendly service, no-frills comfort food. Not much else was open when we happened upon this little establishment, but it left us satisfied and ready for the road.
Incredible! I’m so glad I discovered this restaurant on the island. I ordered the fish taco plate, and it was fantastic. My friend had a combo plate that included a chili relleno, a cheese enchilada, and a pork tamale, all topped with delicious red and green sauces, and he loved everything, too. They make their own tortilla chips, and the green salsa served with them is absolutely amazing. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you; the food inside is outstanding!
This is the best Hispanic restaurant in Gallup, and you’d likely miss it without some guidance. Carlos and Cecilia prepare authentically delicious dishes from scratch. Jamie Oliver features this restaurant in his "Jamie Cooks America" cookbook. I highly recommend the Gorditas with steak or the special moose dish that isn't on the menu. Their large tamales and huevos rancheros divorciado are perfect for breakfast as well. They also serve a great horchata, although they do not offer alcohol. The owners are very friendly and great with kids. I highly recommend it!
