Smokey's - Gallup

We've been through gallup, new mexico on the way back. we decided to stop from smokey to dinner. the first time eating here and was an excellent decision. we ordered the half-ribs/smoke with green chili bean (big tasting bean,) enchiladas and the smokey burger. all were delicious. peach tee was a great refreshment and had to take it to go. william was our server and made the experience more pleasant. thanks for the great food and experience

I was initially skeptical when I was looking for a good place to not have Mexican food in gallup. but this place was not disappointed. large portions of good bbq for a good price. really friendly service also, even a few games enjoyed by pool after we did eat. I look forward to going back when I ever go through gallup.

Quite good! more elaborate, large grill and sauces. I had the crooked. that was exactly what I needed after I drove here from albuquerque in business. also near some hotels. pulled pork was tasteful and moist. the pommes were nothing from the ordinary, but crunchy, yet satisfying. the baked beans have a bliss that is unusual. I liked her, maybe it's not everyone's jam. the cornbrot was also tasty, but a little hard and difficult to bite down. good service, although I didn't get my drink back up to close to the end. make sure to try their regular and spicy grill sauce on the side to see which they like better. I found both to be the right mix of sweet and tasty with the spicy with a reasonable amount of heat. the place does not look so much on the outside, but the inner looks like a red cut sky with old signs, picturesque wall paintings and brown paper that covers the tables. Had a very pleasant culinary experience. server was friendly, lots of parking, cleaner dining area. had the bison burger, it was delicious. the sweet potatoes were delicious. I would come back to eat at this place.

If you're passing by gallup and want a nice sit down bbq joint with family or friends while watching the game, smokeys is a great joint. Be wary of the small sides and drink refill cost, but otherwise decent fall off the bone style ribs (rub, sauce on the side) and large cornbread servings
