Sizzlin J Grill - Galva

Tonight, we decided to skip Galva and try out Sizzlin J's instead. Our meal consisted of sandwiches and wings. I opted for the Philly Brisket Sandwich with fries, and I also ordered some honey BBQ wings. I'm a big fan of chicken, and those wings were absolutely delightful! Troy offers a homemade barbecue sauce for just $5 a glass, and let me tell you—it's worth every penny. Delicious! Tami chose the mushrooms and Swiss burger, along with some sautéed mushrooms. Interestingly, the mushrooms in her burger didn't stand out in flavor. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. During that time, I treated myself to a refreshing 1919 root beer, which was fantastic. When our food arrived, I looked at my sandwich and wondered how I would manage to eat it all. I made good progress, though—halfway through, I realized I was full. I also had six wings left to tackle, knowing that there was a lot on my plate. Troy opened this restaurant and bar in 2014, and he does an excellent job serving the community. My first impression of him was that he’s a cool guy who knows how to cook. The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious, complete with TVs and a fantastic salad bar. If you visit Sizzlin J’s, be sure to come with a big appetite—and don’t forget your mask, as it's required, but that’s perfectly fine with me. Would I come back soon? Absolutely! I’ll definitely be ordering the 1919 root beer, wings, and mushrooms again. Tami mentioned that she found her meal quite good and really enjoyed it. I also plan to order brisket and smoked turkey for Thanksgiving, knowing I’ll have plenty to eat. Coming from a big family, I appreciate having enough food to go around. I encourage you to take the time to visit Troy and the team at Sizzlin J's in Galva. The food is fantastic, and the service is top-notch. You’ll definitely leave feeling full and satisfied—it’s a must-visit in northwest Iowa. Kudos to Sizzlin J's for delivering great food and excellent service in a small town. The prices are generous, so come prepared for a hearty meal and maybe even a nap afterward! The children's menu is excellent for both kids and adults.
