Airfield Hotel & Restaurant

We were there for the second time because of the main attraction, the small runway so that they can see small aircraft coming and going. we decided this time to give the restaurant a second chance and decided to have breakfast buffet at the price of 14.90 eur per person. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty bad, so no airplane was in itself. the service was generally slow, eating was boring, not much exciting and very expensive for the quality of eating and the ingredients you get. they can taste the low quality of the food and beverages used. if they spend so much money for eating, I would strongly recommend you go somewhere else.

No Frills restaurant on a airfield. Eating is honest and hearty German favorites like Schnitzel, Spachtel and Krautsalat are on the menu. The service is warm and friendly. No English menus, but some of the staff speak. It is located directly on an aerodrome, so... You can observe that small airplanes get out, parachutes, cloud divers etc. Nice to dine outside when the weather allows!

Airport restaurant, Ganderkesee There was a flying in of small planes today, so we went to see and have our lunch at the hotel restaurant. The weather was perfect and we sat outside and enjoy fresh air and see airplanes off and landing. The terrace was nice... and comfortable. The menu was large and seasonal dishes on offer were asparagus. The restaurant was about 70% profession. Although the staff worked very hard, the kitchen did not seem to be maintained. Diners had to wait long before the dishes arrived. They were aware that it was a fly-in day with more diners than usual and should be better prepared. My green and white asparagus salad with smoked salmon and mini-hush brown were impressing (12,90€). While the amount was sufficient, the asparagus was not good. They seemed to be lower cuts of vegetables and were pretty hard. A few green asparagus tips that were over boiled and muddy. Unequal sizes told me that they can only be joined together the discarded or abandoned parts of the cooked asparagus in a vinaiigrette sauce, without imagination or love. The sauce lacked subtlety and contained large chucks of scorpions. It was also on the underseasoned side. When it was served, some salad leaves were already spoiled as if the dish had been left unnoticed by the serving staff for some time. It wasn't too bad, but we probably won't come here to eat.

You can cost the low level of food quality and drinks that are used. If you spend so much money on food, I would recommend you to go elsewhere.

Very nice hotel with good restaurant near a small airport. No sound at all much green. The rooms are clean and staff very friendly.
