The restaurant is always clean and well-organized. The cookies are consistently amazing and most items in the front are always good. However, the items in the back can be hit or miss. Recently, the carrot cake and cupcakes have been dry and tasted stale on the last three visits. Despite this, everything else in the longer displays has been good.
This restaurant is definitely one of the best places to satisfy your sweet cravings. I tried a variety of treats and they were all delicious. Each bite was filled with the sweetness of love, and everything tasted very fresh. I highly recommend trying their Nutella Latte, it pairs perfectly with any sweet treat from their menu. I will definitely be returning. Just make sure to secure a seat before ordering, as I had to wander around looking for one after getting my food.
Local French bakeries with the best macarons and croissants I've had in NY.I first found French Workshop in Bayside, Queens, and absolutely love this location in Garden City, too. All of their locations feel just like an upscale Parisian bakery, with bright lights, marble counters, and a long line of display counters. The line can get long and it can take a bit of time to work your way up to the counter, but the wait is worth it.I'm a big plain croissant and macaron guy, and these are some of my absolute favorites. Everything is always fresh, with incredibly flakey and soft croissants. There's a wide variety of macaron flavors, and you absolutely can't go wrong with any of them. My favorites are the Salted Caramel, Lavender, Rose, Lemon, and Raspberry. They're just like the ones I've had in Paris, and are absolutely a fairly priced for the quality. They have a ton of other great offerings, too many to list here. Their crème brûlée was surprisingly amazing for sitting in a display case. Their olive baguette was wonderfully oily and the right balance of chewy and crusty. They make great little croissant sandwiches too if you want something more filling and savory. There's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and if you're staying, they'll put your food on a literal silver platter which is a nice plus. Either way, enjoy these delicious treats and thank me later.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and it was a huge disappointment. When I approached the counter, I waited for 15 minutes to order some macarons and croissants. Despite several workers passing by and asking who needed assistance, I was ignored twice. After finally getting someone's attention to take my order, I had to wait an additional 10 minutes to pay. To top it off, my order was incorrect. Overall, the customer service was very poor.
