Sophies Choice Pierogi

Sophie's is absolutely amazing! Their pierogi are the best you can find. Make sure you check out their seasonal ones too. Caught some potato and spinach last time I was there and they were awesome!

Perhaps it's just me, but I find it really distasteful to turn the name of your Polish deli into a Holocaust joke. As a second generation Polish immigrant who lost most of her family to the Nazis, it's really nauseating to be honest. Judging on the food itself, I was not a fan of the pierogi. The usage of instant potatoes in the pierogi was not the way my Babcia and Busia taught me to make them. They were bland, the dough was too chewy, and I've been making better pierogi at home with regular kitchen tools since I was a young lass. You can honestly get better pierogi if you buy frozen Mrs. T's from the grocery store. So one star for the pierogi, and if I could give zero stars for the name, I would. Cute location though. I guess that's an upside.

My picky eaters (ages 5 and 7) love Sophie's Choice spaetzels. Both of my boys' favorite meal is homemade chicken paprikash made with Sophie's Choice spaetzel. They ask for it all of the time. My only complaint is that they are sometimes hard to find at my grocery stores in Summit County.

I have been going to this market for 44 years...Love it !!!!! You want great cuts of meat,this is the place. Picky about ground meat ground fresh as you wait...Love polish food. It's all here! It is like the old family corner stores something so sadly lost over the years! Fresh cut pork chops,steaks,chicken,and this is only a small sampling of what is offered every day! Home made kilbasa,smoked or fresh. I will not go any where else! So many choices of pierogies it will make your head spin!!! Factory right next door. Fresh polish food hot and ready to take home and eat on fridays!!! The people who work there and own Sophie's,are all so nice and always willing to help. I have asked many times for ideas on how to make a certain cut or type of meat. Be prepared for recipes or cooking suggestions. My only and biggest complaint is I just live down the street... So I am forced to always be on a diet....so worth a stop. Warning....if you do stop you are hooked,this will be a weekly part of you routine!
