The menu at this restaurant is good and offers a variety of options. Our meals were hot and delicious, and our server was friendly and professional. The turkey vegetable soup of the day was tasty but slightly oily. The turkey in the turkey dinner was a bit dry. Overall, the food was good but not exceptional. The washroom was clean but very small. It is surprising that the owners have not invested any money in updating the restaurant, as it has not been renovated in years and could really use a facelift.
I love eating trying new restaurants so on our Sunday drive, we saw this place and decided to stop in an try their homemade food. As I entered, the hostess gave me a slightly frown look and said sit anywhere you want. We picked a table near the window. She came and gave us the menu and stated what the special was, it was roast turkey dinner with choice of fries, mashed (2 scoops) or salad, with gravy, roll, veggies carrots peas, and our choice of tea or coffee for $12.49. I couldn't make up my mind which type of tea I wanted and the only de-caf was in an instant pouch. She didn't seem happy that I was making her wait. I finally said de-caf please. She brought us our buns with our drinks. My tea was on the side but I noticed other customers received their tea already in the pot (I like my tea stronger). I asked to confirm that it is home made turkey and she said that it was. When she brought the turkey dinners, it looked very good. As I began eating, I noticed my two little balls of potatoes were not very warm and some of the turkey was barely warm to the touch. The gravy was very watery and didn't have much taste. I asked for more butter, she she brought to us again with no smile but said there is butter in the basket with the bun. Both of us found the turkey to be very dry. He didn't finish his turkey. I kept putting gravy on my turkey. The scoop of dressing was nice but a little dry as well. I notice she smiled at all the other patrons who came in and called them by name. I noticed someone's fish and chips were very dark. We didn't feel very welcome. We left and said well that was disappointing. He felt it should get a 1 rating but I give it a two. I wouldn't go back there.
Don’t go here very often because it’s on the other side of town for me but always satisfied when I leave. You always feel like family. Service, food and price are always good and you never have to wait for a table.
Been to this restaurant a few times since things have loosened up with the restrictions and found everything as I remember it before Pandemic hit. One of my favorite places to eat, and still is. Very courteous and great food.
