I ended up going there most days for breakfast, lunch or afternoon coffee and cakes. It closes around 7pm so I had to get dinner elsewhere. The food and drinks here are made from100% bio ingredients with both vegan and vegetarian dishes and drinks on offer. Vegan cakes and coffees with either Soya or regular bo milk are absolutely delicious. The owner is a very nice lady who makes everything herself. Her freshly made pastas with different pestos were my absolutely favourite lunch as well as Ayurveda muesli for breakfast. There are also a variety of delicious mixed drinks both with and without alcohol added. It was a great surprise and joy to find a really authentic vegan cafe/restaurant in the centre of Garmisch. The prices were very reasonable considering all the ingredients come from bio and organic sources. The other thing which was great was on the rainy days was that I could enjoy the artwork on display. The works are also for sale but my backpack didn't have the space for carrying paintings. They also hold some kind of craft courses next door and a couple of times while I there I was aware of the people visiting the courses coming to the cafe during breaks. All in all a very pleasant and fresh place to hang out if you are not a meat eater like myself. Delighted to have discovered it. It is off the main walking area in the centre of the town. Just wanted to share the experience with other travelling vegans and vegetarians.Maureen McMahon (London)
Friendly personnel with vegan options available. Artworks make for an interesting diversion while you wait a very short while for your food and/or drink.
Unfortunatly I only managed to eat here once, I say unfortunatly because the food I had was really rather good, and the service excellent. A lot of locals frequent here, and it is in a central location with some nice views, all I can say is the shnitzl I had was georgous, hope this has been of help for you...
A lovely woman-owned business in quaint arty style building. Outdoor seating with mountain views. My Pesto Pasta was both beautifully presented and delicious.
This pretty little cafe is on the corner of Klammstrasse and Hoehentalstrasse. There's a little well outside for children to splash in and in summer the owners let children draw on the sidewalk in chalk. They also have a quiet little patio with a view of the Dreitorspitze mountain. The big reasons to visit, though, are the great food and the friendly service. The restaurant is owned by two women, one of whom (Andrea) is responsible for the food and the other is an artist whose work is displayed in the cafe. (She also offers classes at her little atelier around the corner from the cafe.) I've never had anything there that wasn't yummy. All of Andrea's cakes are vegan but she will add dairy (cheese, cream) to certain dishes on customers' request. Her soups and pastas are wonderful, as are her sandwiches and salads. I am not a tall person so I should generally avoid sweets, but Andrea's baked goods are hard to resist! Her Swedish Apple Cake and Chocolate Chestnut Cake are terrific! (I never had chestnuts in baked goods before - they are delicious!) The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. They offer free wifi and don't mind if you drink tea and work or surf the web for a while. (If you are hanging out, I do highly recommend those cakes and sandwiches!) Enjoy!
