We were staying at the Riessersee hotel and ate here on the first evening. We ordered a small mixed salad to start followed by the turkey red Thai curry with rice. Both were delicious and the service was quick. We enjoyed our meal and cannot fault the staff here, who also work in the bar in the hotel on other evenings.
Very delicious food, I tried the bavarian speciality Kaiserschmarrn which was very delicious. My husband tried the ,,Rehbraten,, and it was awesome. When we will come next time to Garmisch, we will definitely come again to eat.
Great place on the small Lake Riessersee with a phenomenal view over the lake and forest, the Wetterstein mountain chain and an oldfashioned, charming public bathing beach. Huge patio, nice rooms inside, friendly service. Very gaood food, good value, great pies and cakes. Mid range pricing.
Made a stop here during a hike. My wife spoke to a waiter about seating, and then we were never served. We relaxed for about 15 minutes until people who arrived shortly after us and waited about ten minutes were helped. I went inside to ask if we could order at the counter and the server was a bit sarcastic and at that point I had to tap out. I believe they treat you as a captured audience because if you are staying at the hotel or hiked up to the location, you're sort of all in at that point and they have no competition. I feel bad for the guests that stay at the hotel and don't really have an option. We hiked around a little and went back into the city where there's plenty of options. Ironically enough, we had done a loop around the pond and up to the Bob Museum and went by this restaurant once again on the way back. We stopped to use the WC and there was a man complaining to the staff that he and his family had been waiting for service as well. Best to avoid this place at all costs unless you have loads of time. In which case, the view is pretty remarkable. But you might just may go thirsty while enjoying it.
