Hickory Tavern - Gastonia

The food was delicious!!! I ordered the starter parmesan oysters'baked'(recommendation: I would ask for them to be cooked a little more) and the Captain Burger was the best. The captain burger offered sweetness, zest, goat cheese, and was well seasoned. I would definitely recommend this choice.

The Hickory Tavern is a great place to meet new people or have a good date. I really like some of their menu items and their croissants are amazing... More details below. Food Quality: The food here has been great and I haven 't had anything I didn 't like so far. I 've had burgers, salads, chicken, and a few other items and they all were pretty good. Pricing: They are definitely a little steeper on prices. It 'll set you back about $15 for food and a drink before even considering an alcoholic beverage. Atmosphere: What they lack in pricing is somewhat made up for by their atmosphere. It 's definitely cozier than most competition in the area and definitely has a good 'vibe ' per say. I understand that they have weekly events on different nights but I have not been around enough to learn the ins and outs. Service: Pretty reasonable and on par with the scene. The waiters and waitresses I 've had have all been decent so far. Food also comes in a decent amount of time. Overall, pretty cool place. It 's local popularity is well deserved and I think the only thing that I would change is to place more competitive pricing.

Came in an hour and a half before AFC championship game. Jemilah(? was it waitress. Super friendly from the start. Always smiling. Offered many options to use instead of assuming, such as ranch or ketchup etc. service was amazing. Food was awesome too. Great waitress

The environment was very acceptable and staff was friendly. The food and drinks were good. If there was a negative or complaint, it would be about sitting guests so close together, especially during what is still COVID restrictions. Other than that, it was a good dining experience.

We stopped to take money back on our upside app and so happy we did. our server was great (what I could remember her name.) that eating was also delicious. my picky son even asked to return for her chicken strips. I enjoyed the carolina pulled pork tacos and my man enjoyed his smokehouse burger.
