We were so glad to find this place and eat with great service and many vegan options really enjoyed.
Watch this caffe it is always müll reviews from a background. we had 'sour teough' panini with mere filling and an almost non-existent halat. as an amateur breadmaker myself I can tell the difference between cheap catering baguette style brot what happened really dry and inconspicuous, and acidic teig. that was the former for which we were charged £9 each. I only rarely complain, but I felt I was totally preserved. the owner was not the least interested in my complaint. initially, although she offered a refund and I said I didn't complain to get back money, but was more interested in it being more demanding and a better honest product for customers in her suppliers. she made it clear that this was secondary to make a profit. so, then I accepted her offer of a refund, but then she refused and demanded that I go. when I was complaining, she called the police! and yes, there is still a vegan tax. for the avoidance of doubt 2 seems the standard minimum rating I can give.
We were so excited to find a veggie pizza place in an opposite place where there is not much choice. the menu looked fantastic. Unfortunately, the disappointment began when we lifted up the pizza boxes and they felt empty. although the basic was beautiful and thin, the beats were practically not present. a sun-dried tomate, cut into four, again quartered an artichoke heart, a laugh of the tomato sauce and barely cheese, so the whole thing was dry. the pizzas were expensive and I was also overloaded. the people seemed nice and I hate to leave a bad review, but they do themselves an disregard with such mere offered. I hope that they will take this as a constructive criticism, as I would like to make it good.
Great location; we were passing and called in because we'd been meaning to try it. Friendly service, attentive without being intrusive or making us feel rushed. We really enjoyed our scone and main courses. When we got the bill, we thought it was a little higher than expected, though didn't sweat it and tipped anyway due to the staff being so friendly and helpful. It was only when we looked at the receipt later that we realised that we had been charged a whopping 50p extra each for having soya and oat milk in our tea and coffee, and also charged extra for choosing the vegan cheese option on pizza. This is a ridiculous thing for high street chain businesses to do, and thankfully almost all have now stopped this vegan tax For an independent, meat-free café to do so is extremely disappointing, and for this reason, we are unlikely to return.
