La Ferme Rouge - Gatineau

We were a group of 20 people celebrating two birthdays. They offer a buffet and a handful of menu items. Full disclosure I had just returned from the west coast having had the most amazing fresh fish ever! I did have the salmon at the Ferme Rouge and it was very average compared to where I had just been. My friends that had the Filet Mignon really liked it. The sides were very good as well. The outstanding part of our evening was our servers Sophie and Daniel. You couldn't ask for better service. The service and the show put on by the servers was exceptional. They were very professional and entertaining each and every one of them! The first set of songs were in French but then they transition to English songs for the majority of the night. They are songs that everyone knows. I highly recommend this place.

We attended here with a group from a Conference. Supper was very good but far too much food. The entertainment was very, very good! These are some very talented young singers, dancers and musicians. They not only entertained but hustled between performances as waitresses, bus boys & bar staff.The venue itself is not set up all that well for a dinner and show as the pillars block the view and the stage set up in the center of the room did not allow for a good view by all.

I brought my grandmother, father and various family members and friends to this restaurant over the years when it was located in Gatineau and they all loved the food, show and ambiance. My grandmother loved Michel, the lead singer/bongo player and used to call him, her boyfriend. Throughout the years she would ask me if I've gone back to see her boyfriend which, I'd always let her know if I did. Last night, I brought my fiancée for his birthday and although the restaurant has changed its location, the food, show and ambiance have remained the same - warm. Thank you Michel for taking a photo with me last night after the show, I'm sure my grandma was looking down from heaven with a smile on her face. Wonderful venue, would return and would definitely recommend.

The buffet is well maintained even when busy. The choices of salads was varied and fresh. The fish choices were good and well presented. There was a large selection of desserts and fresh fruit. The beef and lamb was over cooked. The staff complemented the food service and were always very attentive.

The person taking my online reservation flat out lied about my reservation, despite several follow up confirmations on my part. My advice is that if you're going to reserve here, do it in person and don't leave without getting some hard proof; email was not sufficient in my case.The performers try hard and they interact with the crowd which is nice but personally, I doubt I will be coming back here. For the money, we can have a nice, albeit smaller meal at the Chateau Laurier.
