My wife and I had a five-course menu and what a meal it was. They offer a seven services meal that we do not go because my wife does not like lamb and it was part of the main course. We felt like king and... that the service is notch, it is the only five diamond restaurant in the area. The food from this world was a true joy for the mouth.
These restaurants cater to the wealthy, but treat regular people as if they are second-class and unworthy of their attention.
I visited this restaurant for a special occasion and was very impressed with the exceptional and professional service. The food was delicious and served in generous portions. Despite some previous negative reviews, I found everything to be well-executed and was not disappointed. I plan to return again soon.
While not the best value for money, and not the best food it's the best special occasion spot in Ottawa. The 7 course tasting menu had Fois Gras so we ordered it and it turns out it was actually too much food for us, but...it was very nice. We were bit disappointed with the fact that despite having a very good somalier, there is no flexibility on the matched pairings, and sure they were well paired but if your not a fan of a specific varietal many places will suggest alternatives. The savoy cabbage that was served with the deer was simply wonderful, and the deer was unbelievably good, the black cod a close second and the Fois a third the desert was the weakest dish, bu overall a wonderful dinner. The atmosphere was great and the setting magnificent.
