Restaurant Alpina - Gatineau

I had previously been to this restaurant before the new owners were there. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived by the change of decor, seating and layout of the restaurant. The menu had a good variety as well as originality and very reasonable prices. The food tasted great. I recommend this place very much and we will definitely be going back.

I had the Eggs Florentine and it was without a doubt, the best I have ever had. The aroma when it was brought to the table, was mouth watering. I do not like fries with my breakfast and asked that they not put any on my plate. They put a nice assortment of fruit instead of the fries. The spinach in the florentine was wilted just enough to be tasty but not mush. The sauce was divine and they weren't cheap with the ham. The eggs were poached perfectly. My husband had the Eggs Benedict and he agreed about the sauce and the ham. He had no complaints and ate every bite, including the beans that came with it.The server was fluently bilingual and extremely pleasant.Although this restaurant is out of the way, I do recommend it if you want an affordable brunch.

I have been stopping here for breakfast before and after an early round of golf for years. The previous owner was quite the character but he was robbed blind by his accountant and had to sell. The new owner is very nice and has improved menu offerings with pizza and an outdoor bbq on summer evenings. I've only tried his breakfast and lunches so far and everything is very good. A lot of local traffic. Must try it for an evening meal or take out.

I've come here for breakfast on occasion and while the decor is a work in progress that's coming along well, the food is really good! The dining room has been expanded. Servers are fully bilingual. There appears to be some bar service, though I've never been there for anything other than breakfast. Free parking. Steps away from the Gatineau Park mountains.

The menu offered a good variety of dishes with originality and very affordable prices. The food was delicious and I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be returning.
