Awesome value. Good quality reasonably priced meals. Large soup/salad/veg and dessert bar. Recommend booking as very busy

The Gawler Arms has always been more expensive than many similar venues. It also offers soup, salad bar, hot vegetable bar and dessert unlike alot of others.We ate here tonight which we do about every few months. The food was good as usual although the veg soup did contain mostly peas which it usually doesn't. The main meals were seafood platter which we ordered with potato as i don't like their wedges. The portion size was larger than usual which was pleasing because at $31 this is an expensive choice. The second main was chicken asparagus again an improvement on previous times.Good to also see the crumbed califlower back as this like califlower cheese is becoming rare. The panacotta for dessert was nice. Overall, it is pricey but if you wanted to you could eat a fair bit.

Took my elderly parents out to dinner as we were not from here they chose the place, what a let down. I was not very hungry so hubby

Whoever owns this place is ripping off those who can only eat one meal between two. My wife and I are in that position and we did the right thing by advising the staff on duty only to be told it was going to cost an additional $14.90 for the salad bar. We would not be able to eat any more than what would be served to one person. No hurry to come back here.

Have been plenty of times, but never waited an hour, notice we are not the first to comment on this issue, "We are very busy and we didn't know it would take this long". How is that possible? Does the kitchen not communicate with the front of house to advise the delay. Would've gone to the Golden Fleece across the road if I'd known it would take that long. Last time I visit this local restaurant!☹️️
