The lamb was cooked to perfection, so tender that it fell off the bone and melted in our mouths. The sauce was outstanding and truly enhanced the flavor of the lamb. The meal was served in a large platter in the center of the table, allowing us to serve ourselves just like at home. There was more than enough food for the four of us, and even with two bottles of wine and a few beers included, the total cost was around $45 per person. We are definitely planning on returning to this restaurant. The drive from Adelaide to Gawler is lovely, and Gawler itself is a charming town worth visiting.
Located in what used to be a former fast food pizza restaurant, this unassuming eatery may not look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled. Once inside, you'll be treated to delicious homestyle meals that will transport you to a charming bistro or trattoria in southern Europe. The portions are generous and flavorful, with no pretentiousness or unnecessary embellishments. The accommodating owners are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. The spacious restaurant is perfect for families and large groups, and offers a good selection of wines from nearby wine regions in Australia.
