We went to the restaurant only for coffee and dessert. There was a very limited selection of cakes and a few desserts. We had the gingerbread mousse, which was very nice but not amazing. The coffee was very good except the frothed milk on the cappuccino, which was much too stiff. Great view from the deck.
Just around the corner from the more famous palace, this restaurant offers a more affordable menu with very similar views from the terrace. The food was good quality, the service very friendly; only downside is the somewhat limited parking.
Restaurant belongs to the cloister hotel. Great location overlooking a garden and vineyard. Our waitress Laura was exceptional- friendly and gracious.. and ready to help us with some translations on the menu. The food was excellent!! Went well with a bottle of a local (Geisenheim) dry white.
We had lunch here during a tour through the Rheingau, and were delighted by the delicious lunch menu at a very reasonable price. It was very quiet - only 2 other parties, but the food was freshly cooked and the service excellent. The frothy cress soup with prawn and nice variation the typical local white soups, the stuffed guineafowl with cabbage, bacon and potato utterly delicious; my partner had crispy red mullet with grapefruit risotto. Of course, a wide selection of local rieslings and other wines. The price was just the same we paid for a mediocre touristy meal in Baden Baden the previous day, but the quality and freshness infinitely better.
